The child

Inspired by an old sketch that I didn't manage to upload... You can see the first version of this here: [link]

I first dampened the whole background, then added two different bleu watercolours and let them melt; then I put some salt on the wet paper. I wanted it to look a bit like a starry sky and I don't think I succeeded; anyway I still like this background.

For the star, I let a drop of water fall on the colour to make a lighter spot, then let it dry and painted the yellow star.

The characters were made with very few water, just a first light layer, then a stronger one to make the shadows; and some ink to underline them. I didn't want them to look too realistic, more like comics or illustration characters, that's why I didn't work a lot on the lights and shadows.
